oh good u made it past the guard clown...keep scrollin...
this one might be a little more of a prattle. i haven't been sleeping well lately. my days are sort of overlapping and i keep having dreams that i text family members "are you safe?"
using this part of my blog as an excuse to unravel the lil bits of my brain.
it's cold and wet outside and i can see signs of life! it's crazy how much of a difference that makes.
i used to think spring was just soggy & ugly...i don't think i could recognize or relate to that unflattering in between. but this spring!? the sight of that rhubarb patch that grows behind our trash can -- budding and unfurling a lil bit more every day?!? oh it's blissful. that trash rhubarb could be me if i dream hard enough.
i don't wanna unload to fast here but it feels inevitable that i'd admit -- things have been off! they have been quite fucked, to be real!
trying to cope the best i can. i've been losing myself in these repetitive acts of creation that help lock me into the moment. it feels good to fixate so hard on a single task -- whether that's a color study painting or carving up stamps for prints. wading through territories i'm less familiar with that still feel under my control. having fun! trying to get a good balance of getting lost in my tasks but not isolating myself too hard.
i'm adjusting to the new studio space! excited to adorn the space with knick-knacks & various cursed items. still apprehensive to ask where power tools are...but everyone has been very friendly! it's a jumble of excitement & nerves to meet so many new people all at once, but I've got a good feeling about it!
i'll ramble again on here after the guest spot -- i'm excited to finish some pieces for an art show in June...i'll be at different market events & roaming around different spaces.

flipping the radio off so i can have find some words in my brain that aren't other peoples'...
i'm trying to stay as informed as possible, stay in the loop for my sake and for the sake of my family & community...
& sometimes i want to say things! i want to step up on this little platform and wave my arms around!
but i have this fear that i'm too "dumb/uneducated/inexperienced" to speak on matters...
but somethings not right, fam.
jokes & imposter syndrome aside, i've got this pit in my chest that i haven't quite felt since the pandemic.
i don't want that fear of coming across "stupid" to keep me quiet when there's a sense of dread all around us.
if your values and actions are rooted in racism, transphobia, xenophobia, sexism, homophobia, misogyny...hatred towards others...you don't have a place in my chair, i don't want your business.
let's remain connected & take care of eachother even when it feels scary.
stay informed, but log off when you can...

+ healing to be amongst my ppl. allowing myself to be cringe adds 10 years on to my lifespan.
+ we vended at crossroads last year in '23, by the time the dealers room was closed & we were all packed up for the night...i missed out on all the actual con events!
+ don't get me wrong, i would love to be involved & vend at more cons! but man--being an attendee.... dressing up & goofing off & dancing & scoping out sweet anime waifus in the dealers room...

big gay valentines day market was a success!
this one was at
The Amp in indy. waited until the last hour to check out the other booths & it was bumping. there were live aerial silk demonstrations, different foods, lots and lots of new faces.
seeing returning customers was crazy for me. one person told me that they were wearing a pair of earrings i made when they went on their first date with their partner, and now they're celebrating their first valentine's day together!
there are things i want to pour more attention into for the next event~
